AT THE ORIGIN OF OUR KNOW-HOW, MARIE YERAMIAN.

FROM CONSTANTINOPLE TO MARSEILLE, ITINERARY OF A FREE, MODERN AND VISIONARY WOMAN.

Marie YERAMIAN lands in France at the age of twelve. The family must flee the Turkish revolution. This immigration is only made possible under the condition that Marie works and at the age of 13 y.o., she begins in a silk mill in the south of France. In 1929, thanks to her know-how, she switches to a new activity and move closer to Paris to manufacture transformers and loudspeakers.

She rapidly becomes fore(wo)man and starts a company with her partner in 1938, specialised both in the manufacture of transformers and loudspeakers. Back then, the radio market is quickly expanding but very fragmented, with numerous small craft businesses.

At the end of the war, she abandons the transformer manufacturing activity and establishes, alone, the Siare company in Vincennes, focused solely on loudspeakers.

Between 1945 and 1956, SIARE goes from a small business to an industrial company, fighting at this time numerous competitors. Visionary and independent, Marie decides to acquire alone a rather large factory in Saint Maur des Fossés to sustain her ambitious development. Through the 70’s/80’s, most of SIARE’s competitors will disappear, and only a couple of industrial manufacturers will subsist: SIARE and AUDAX. SIARE and its 350 employees subsisted thanks to the company’s focus in the high-fidelity market.

Slowly but surely, the company establishes itself as a reference in the production of high-fidelity speakers and loudspeakers, becoming the largest manufacturer in this domain. A rise in which her son, Thierry Cagniard, will largely contribute.

Later, Marie will transmit her passion for sound crafting and entrepreneurship to her grandchildren, Guillaume and Timothee.
